An ambitious exhibition at Rye Creative Centre, which includes works by nationally and internationally recognised artists.

More Information (Sussex Living is not responsible for external websites)

A compelling & timely exhibition curated to reflect the geography of contemporary art practice as artists shift their focus away from the capital. Members of the artist-led group Contemporary British Painting come together from across the UK & Ireland with invited artists from Rye and the surrounding counties to exhibit their work and engage in conversations which explore the power of joining forces to work collaboratively, delve into the artists’ process and celebrate the wealth of creativity in Kent, Sussex and across the UK.

Rye is uniquely situated at the mid-point of the creative artery that extends along the South Coast from Brighton to Margate linking important public art institutions, independent galleries and artist-led spaces. This ambitious exhibition includes works by ninety-six artists many of whom are nationally and internationally recognised. A third of the exhibitors work in or around Rye; they represent just a small cross-section of the rich seam of talent drawn to the area. Assembly creates a platform for engagement and dialogue with an exciting range of artists whose energy, and significant and diverse histories of making, animate this exhibition.
