Check out these upcoming spotlight events across Sussex.

The Battle of Hastings, Battle Abbey

Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th October

The one and only Battle of Hastings re-enactment returns for 2023. Taking place on the very spot where King Harold and Duke William fought in 1066, don't miss over 300 reenactors recreate the drama and intensity of this legendary conflict. Adventure into the encampments of the armies on either side of the historic battlefield, meet falconers and their majestic birds of prey, or take a wander through the historical market.

There's lots for kids to enjoy, from storytelling and have a go archery, to becoming a Norman or Saxon soldier in our sword schools. And of course, in the re-enactment itself, watch a gripping battle unfold, as our Norman and Saxon armies bring the story of 1066 to life.
