Quentin Blake art draws people to Arundel Wetland Centre

Now until Sunday 3rd September

The best of the wetland nature is highlighted at WWT Arundel Wetland Centre as part of a year-long partnership between renowned illustrator Sir Quentin Blake and the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. The Drawn to Water summer trail includes imaging life in a nest, watching for kingfisher families and hunting for dragonfly larvae to explore the amazing nature of the season through Quentin Blake’s illustrations. Art activities running with the trail this month include the Birds of a Feather Create drop-in crafts and ‘Lets Draw Outdoors’ workshops alongside the stunning summer wildflowers, the attraction’s popular family pond dipping sessions and wetland boat safaris. The trail is free, normal admission applies.

Discover Britain’s Wonderful Wildlife This Summer!

Summer holidays open daily to Sunday 3rd September, 10am to 5pm (last admission 4pm)

This summer the British Wildlife Centre is open daily throughout the holidays, giving you every chance to meet Britain’s wildlife, with species ranging from tiny harvest mice to magnificent red deer. The season has brought new life including red deer calves and fallow fawns in the deer park, baby hedgehogs, known as hoglets, and red squirrel kits. Meet Bain the cheeky young otter and Mortimer the fox (known as Naughty Morty!) It’s a REAL natural history experience! Free Parking, Picnic Areas, Coffee Shop, Gift Shop.

Heavy Horses at High Beeches - Sunday 20th August

Heavy horses will be harrowing the wildflower meadow as part of the management of this special meadow. Harrowing removes the thatch and helps to scatter the wildflower seeds. Come and watch the horses at work and enjoy a walk in this woodland garden which has been sensitively planted to create a place of great beauty and tranquillity, the blue willow gentians will be in flower, this is the only place in the country where these special plants have naturalised. Tea/coffee, cake and ice cream all available in the Garden Gate Lodge.

Open every day from 1pm – 5pm except Wednesdays.

The Labyrinth Challenge at Leonardslee - Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th August

Dodge through swinging blades, leapfrog over hurdles and bolt to the finishing line in this 1000ft long inflatable obstacle course. Consisting of 5 zones and over 34 unique challenges and obstacles. Make it a day out for the family with The Mini Labyrinth Challenge for younger adventurers. There are also SEN based sessions available on the 17 August. Why not challenge any thrill seeker to this adventure of a lifetime? Suitable for all ages.
