February Frolics 2018 With Cuckfield Dramatic Society
- Our annual comedy dinner theatre event traditionally comprises both a set of comedy sketches and a short play with a meal served between the two halves on both the 23rd and 24th February performances.
- The shorter elements (and smaller number of lines) mean it’s an ideal opportunity for new or returning actors and directors to flex their dramatic muscles!
This year’s short play is the French farce “Mixed Doubles” by Georges Feydeau, and will be directed by Ken Collins, (who made his CDS acting debut as Dr Astrov in Uncle Vanya last year).
As well as the two performances in the Queen’s Hall in February we will be reprising the show at another venue on March 9th, as a charity fundraiser with the Cuckfield and Lindfield Rotary Club with whom we collaborated in October 2016 when we performed Murder On Air.
Once the Feb Frolics are out of the way rehearsals will start for our first major play for 2018.
Stay tuned for details of auditions for 84 Charing Cross Road being performed from30 May to 2 June 2018. This hit play is based on the real life correspondence between a young struggling writer in New York and an antiquarian book seller in London. Covering the shared love of good literature as well as business and friendship the action is set over a twenty year period, from 1949 to 1969.
