Moving In Time, For P & S Gallagher
Family owned funeral director P & S Gallagher has moved to beautifully designed spacious new premises in Haywards Heath.
P & S Gallagher first opened its doors in Haywards Heath in 1992 in Triangle Road. Just over 25 years later, they have moved around the corner to 20 Sussex Road, with spacious new premises allowing the highly qualified team to expand their offering even further.
The prominent location boasts beautifully designed interiors, lots of natural light, plenty of parking and Cottage Flowers florist just next door. Behind the scenes there is state of the art mortuary facility and purpose-built garaging. Most ground breaking of all is a brand-new service suite, enabling families to hold a funeral service on site. This bright non-denominational space can accommodate up to 50 attendees. “Our families can now hold a service in the local area where that person actually lived their life. In the case of cremation, they don’t have to travel outside of the district to hold a service, and for local burial, if they are not holding a church service we can offer a dry, warm and comfortable alternative to a grave-side service.
Patrick and his wife Sandy have lived in Sussex since 1974, with their son Matthew attending school in Cuckfield. In 1992 they opened P & S Gallagher in Haywards Heath. The company has gone from strength to strength since then, opening Bowley Funeral Service in Hassocks in partnership with Paul Bowley in 1999, establishing another office in Burgess Hill in 2010 and opening as Bowley & Gallagher in Preston Park, Brighton in 2016.
Matthew said, “We are experienced in arranging all kinds of funerals, from full military honours to natural burials, requiem mass and church funerals, Hindu, Buddhist and celebrant-led funerals in more outlandish venues”.
Pre-paid funeral plans are available in partnership with Golden Charter, a reputable FPA registered provider, and the team are happy to discuss any arrangements in their comfortable new offices or visit people in their own homes.
The new premises are open to everyone, creating a warm, welcoming and relaxed environment for anybody to come and discuss funerals, funeral planning, or memorial masonry. Along with state of the art facilities and equipment, the offices will also act as a training centre for funeral directors across the South East, along with those working in the local caring community. Matthew is a national verifier for the Independent Funeral Directors College and relishes the opportunity to nurture new talent and raise standards within the profession.
P & S Gallagher are holding a public open day on Saturday 28th July to celebrate their move to 20 Sussex Road. Friends, colleagues, clients and anybody with an interest in the company’s work is invited to come along, see the new premises, enjoy some refreshments and meet the experienced team.
