Overlooked Dog Awaits ‘Yappy’ Ending After 18 Months In Kennels
Dogs Trust Shoreham is appealing for a ‘furever’ home for an overlooked rescue dog, Jasper. In stark contrast to the average stay of 36 days for Dogs Trust residents, Crossbreed Jasper has spent almost 18 months in kennels at the rehoming centre.
With over 6,550 visitors having walked past him, staff at the Brighton Road Rehoming Centre are calling on local dog lovers to see if Jasper’s special someone is out there and can find room in their heart and home for him. Although six-year-old Jasper receives lots of fuss and attention from his canine carers who adore him, nothing compares to finding a loving home of his own.
Arriving as a stray, Jasper loves spending time with people and is dreaming of a quiet home where he is the only dog, so he gets all the attention. Described as “a great chap with a sensitive nature”, Jasper would prefer to live with teenagers aged 16 years plus, without visiting children, so he can settle and grow in confidence. Jasper enjoys walking in wide, open spaces, and would love a garden to call his own.
Tracey Rae, Dogs Trust Shoreham Rehoming Centre Manager, said: “As much as staff are enjoying the presence of this loveable chap, we would love to see Jasper re-homed so he can enjoy his days with a loving family. Fully housetrained, this adorable canine has a lot of love to give – we’re appealing to dog lovers in Sussex to help Jasper see ‘a dog is for life’ and give this ‘pawsome’ pooch a forever home. A home within an hour’s drive from the rehoming centre is preferred so he can visit before he goes home for good.”
If you can offer Jasper a new start and home, please call the team at Dogs Trust Shoreham on 0300 303 0292 or visit www.dogstrust.org.uk.
