En Route To The Royal Oak In Wineham
The Royal Oak in Wineham is currently under threat to it’s business due to a significant road closure on the bridge in Wineham Lane where the pub is situated. The closure which is in place until July 1st is to enable necessary repairs to improve the safety of the bridge.
Unfortunately, this means that customers going to the pub from the southern locations such as Henfield, Brighton, Small Dole, and Partridge Green are having to drive a diversion in order to reach the pub. Customers coming from the North (A272) are not affected.
There are however a couple of options for an alternative route from the South as follows; From the B2116 Henfield Road viaTwineham Lane, turning left onto Bob Lane and then left again onto Wineham Lane where the pub is approximately 300 yds on the right.
Alternatively drive to the village of Cowfold, turning right at the roundabout onto the A272 then turn right onto Wineham Lane. The pub is approximately 1.2 miles on the right.
The Royal Oak is a small country pub originating from the 1400’s that boasts heavily beamed ceilings and an inglenook fireplace. It relies heavily on the local and passing trade and customers enjoy it’s character, simplicity and charm. The Royal Oak is famous for it’s hearty ploughman’s, sumptuous roast dinners and locally sourced fresh food.
Dogs are always welcome at the The Royal Oak and new customers will enjoy the charming atmosphere and extensive garden on warmer days.
