New Forum To Help Employers Offer Opportunities In Brighton And Hove

Brighton & Hove City Council are launching a new forum to help employers offer more work experience placements, internships, supported internships and apprenticeships in Brighton & Hove.

The council says the forum will allow employers to find out about the different types of programmes that are available and how to access relevant funding opportunities.

The forum will also enable employers to share ideas, knowledge and experiences.

A launch event will introduce a new toolkit to highlight work taking place locally to support work experience, internships and apprenticeships.

The business forum launch will take place between 12 noon and 2pm on Monday 23 September at Horatio’s Bar, Brighton Palace Pier, Madeira Drive, Brighton, BN2 1TW. Lunch will be provided.

The forum will be meeting twice a month, so if you are interested in joining the forum but are unable to attend the launch, follow the Eventbrite page for details of future meetings.

Councillor Emma Daniel, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Youth Services, said:

"Work experience, internships and apprenticeships are a great way for employers to bring in talented new candidates in the early stages of their career, improve staff retention and reduce recruitment costs.

“This also offers young people a fantastic opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a workplace setting while being supported by an enthusiastic employer.

“This new forum  will help businesses to increase their confidence in offering and hiring work experience, internships and apprenticeships by sharing knowledge and experience in this area, alongside resources and funding opportunities.”
