Advertising Feature: A haven of style for the sophisticated woman with a passion for fashion, Sara Whatley pays a visit to Sedici
Tucked into a cosy side street in Seaford you will find a Mecca for style and elegance; Sedici. There has been a boutique on this site for more than 40 years and wearing the current mantle of ownership is Clare Ireland. She fell into the job after years working in the music industry, but says she just loves it, especially the buying trips and the social aspect.
“We have a really loyal clientele who shop here,” Clare told me, who greets many customers by name. “They love to come in and feel the fabrics, try on the beautiful clothes and invest in stylish pieces – we’re not fast fashion – we’re affordable and lovely!”
Looking round the colourful rails so many vibrant colours pop out, as well as tactile natural fabrics one wants to just snuggle up to. “We’re all about relaxed, smart casual styles, colours and natural fibres,” said Clare. “Some labels just fly off the shelves, like Mama b, an Italian quality label which is entirely made in Italy; Sahara; Adini; and Thought, which is an ethical, sustainable and organic brand – even their stock arrives in biodegradable packaging!”
Sedici also stocks super soft leather handbags by Sticks and Stones, and brightly coloured cool backpacks by Roka. “Our hats are really popular too,” Clare told me as she showed me a rainbow of Kopka woollen roll up berets, which are 100% pure Merino wool and can be styled in a number of flattering ways. “These are incredibly popular, and look great too,” smiled Clare.
Jewellery and beauty are not forgotten either at Sedici, with the current display of Ortigia home and beauty products shining tantalisingly on the shelves with their brightly coloured and ornate designs. “These are brilliant Christmas gifts,” Clare suggested of the Italian brand. The glittering necklaces and statement bracelet’s would be lovely gifts too, or just a special treat for yourself to complete your seasonal sparkle.
In fact, with the new winter season in stock, which includes loads of snugly long cardigans, coats, cosy hats and striking scarves, Sedici is the ideal place to pop into for a spot of seasonal shopping. You may even find your perfect Christmas outfit here too!
“We now have an online store, started during lockdown as a way of reaching our loyal clientele who were so supportive! Gift vouchers are available both in the shop and online,” said Clare.
This little haven of a shop is a destination for many who know they will find a look they love and a fun shopping experience too. Email to join their mailing list to receive news and promotions.
