We’ve all had a holiday go awry at some point. From missed flights to bad weather, there’s plenty to complain about when things don’t go as planned. But some people take the art of complaining to a whole new level. Here are five of the most bizarre holiday complaints over time that you wouldn’t believe were real:
1. The Beach Was Too Sandy
Yes, you read that right. One tourist expressed outrage that their beach holiday was ruined by the sheer amount of sand on the beach. Apparently, the complainant found it “impossible to get rid of” and claimed their vacation was ruined by the constant presence of the gritty stuff.
2. No One Warned Us There Would Be Fish in the Sea
Another holidaymaker took their frustration to the complaints desk after a snorkeling trip left them shocked and appalled. Their grievance? They were not warned about the presence of fish in the sea. According to the complaint, the unexpected encounter was “absolutely terrifying.”
3. The Ice Cream Was Too Cold
One resort guest found themselves deeply dissatisfied with the temperature of their ice cream. Despite enjoying a vacation in a tropical paradise, their main complaint was that the ice cream was “too cold” to enjoy comfortably. No word yet on what temperature they would have preferred.
4. The Bed Sheets Were Too White
In what can only be described as an oddly specific grievance, a guest at a luxury hotel complained that the bed sheets were “too white.” The dazzling brightness of the sheets, apparently, made it hard for them to relax and feel at home.
5. My Girlfriend Got Pregnant
Arguably the most bewildering of all, this complaint was directed at a hotel whose Jacuzzi was allegedly “too potent.” The guest claimed that their girlfriend’s unexpected pregnancy was due to spending too much time in the supposedly “magical” hot tub. Perhaps science wasn’t their strong suit.
